The Key FAQ

When should I enroll?
Streetmasters workshops fill quickly! Enroll today to ensure your first choice of dates. We also maintain a wait list for each workshop. Please call us any time at (805) 464-0544. Our Registration and Information line is open 9 am to 5 pm PST Monday through Friday. You may leave a message 24/7 and we will return your call during our regular hours. Be sure to ask about our Gift Certificates.

What do I need to enroll?
Riders will need a valid drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement and photo ID, a minimum 2 years riding experience or 3,000 miles recent riding experience, be 18 years old or older and provide proof of motorcycle insurance.

When are the workshops held?
The Precision Cornering Workshop is a one-day intensive workshop. It is held from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. In 2008 it will be held on Saturdays, May 31 (there are a few slots open - call today!) Sept. 27, Oct. 18 and Nov. 8, 2008. Call today to enroll in our workshops! Additional dates including Sundays will be added as needed. Special dates can be arranged for Riding Clubs & Groups. Where are the workshops held?
The Briefing & Tech Inspection is held at the Best Western Antelope Valley Inn Conference Center, 44055 N Sierra Highway, Lancaster, CA 93534. It is followed by the Riding Clinic and Practice Pad workshop at the Horse Thief Mile in the Willow Springs International Motorsports Park at 3500 75th St. West in Rosamond, CA 93560. This is not a track school. It is held on a closed-course that simulates a real highway.

What is the tuition?
The Precision Cornering Workshop tuition is $360.00 per rider. Tuition includes all track fees, lunch, refreshments and snacks with 4 riders maximum per instructor for individualized instruction. There is a 15% discount for groups of 4 or more enrolling in the Precison Cornering Workshop. (Discount may not be combined with any other promotion or discount.) For Express Enrollment riders please include a photocopy of your drivers license and motorcycle insurance card.

What are the Streetmasters Registration numbers and mailing address?

What do I need to wear?
A DOT approved 3/4 or full face helmet (no 1/2 helmets); leather, cordura nylon or kevlar riding jacket; long pants (blue jeans are acceptable); full-fingered riding gloves; eye protection and sturdy over-the-ankle boots. You may wear a long sleeve shirt on the practice pad, jackets must be worn on the Horse Thief Mile. Bring sunscreen or rain gear.

Do you supply the motorcycles?
The workshops are designed to improve your skills on your own street-legal motorcycle. It must be a minimum of 250cc. There is no maximum size limit. Remember this is not a racing school.

What should I do to my bike to get it ready?
To pass tech inspection your motorcycle must have no fluid leaks; controls properly adjusted; brakes in good operating order; tires in good condition and properly inflated with a minimum of 50% tread remaining and a full tank of gas. You do not have to disconnect the brake lights, remove or tape over the mirrors. We will conduct tech inspection of all motorcycles before you ride on the Horse Thief Mile.

Are these pass/fail workshops?
No, just like any professional workshop, our workshops are individual skills-building workshops. All participants will receive a performance certificate.

Where can I stay?
Reduced rate motel accommodations are available for Streetmasters participants at the Best Western Antelope Valley Inn & Conference Center, 44055 North Sierra Highway, Lancaster, CA 93534. Reduced rates are $89.00 per night plus tax for single or double occupancy (full buffet breakfast included). Please call (800) 810-9430 and ask for the Willow Springs Streetmasters rate. Workshop participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and for all associated meals and drinks.

What if I'm late?
Our workshop is designed to build your skills one step at a time. For successful completion, you must attend all riding and practice drills in the order they are given. Please plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to get to the workshop. If you have any questions regarding directions, please call our office Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST at (805)464-0544.

What if it rains?
Workshops are held rain or shine.

How do you handle rescheduling or cancellations?
We are happy to reschedule or cancel your workshop enrollment up to 20 days before the workshop begins. All cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. We regret there are no refunds if you cancel after the 20 day grace period, if you arrive after the workshop has begun, if you fail to wear the required safety clothing, if your bike fails tech inspection or you are unable to complete the course due to mechanical problems.
