About Us
Fred Rau has described the Streetmasters Motorcycle Workshop instructors as "the highest-caliber imaginable." We've assembled a team of "master instructors" for you to learn from. These dedicated instructors, track marshals and staff are experienced motorcycle riders and well-respected training professionals with first-hand knowledge of proven riding techniques and skills. Our team is overseen by lead instructor, Walt Fulton III.
Walt Fulton is a recognized name in motorcycling. A former three-time winner at Daytona and team racer for both Harley-Davidson and Kawasaki, he was a featured rider in the documentary "On Any Sunday." He is a BMW Legends racer, a professional motorcycle accident reconstruction expert, motorcycle journalist and a private riding instructor.
Dennis Pegelow, Streetmasters Instructor, has been riding for over 40 years. He road raced in the 1970's and 80's (starting on a Kawasaki 750 and then a TZ700) and is also a long-time dirt rider with two top ten finishes in national enduros. He operated DP Safety Schools from 1990 to 2004 and has also taught track schools for auto drivers. He has toured Europe, the Isle of Man, Alaska, Canada and Baja -- both on and off road.
Mike Douglas, Streetmasters Instructor, has been riding since 1986 and has logged well over 500,000 miles in 49 states, 10 Canadian provinces, Mexico and even Israel. A former MSF Chief instructor, Mike is currently part owner of JBJ Cycles, an independent service and accessories shop in Santa Ana, CA. Mike's stable includes a 1989 GL1500 with over 307,000 miles, a 2001 GL1800 with over 70,000 and a 2000 Victory V92C with over 28,000 miles.

She enjoys riding backroads and byways on any of her four bikes: a Honda CB-1, two Honda CBR400RRs and a Kawasaki ZRX-1200. She says a satisfying day is at least 300 miles and she averages about 15,000 miles a year. Nancy is a contributor to Motorcycle Consumer News.
Steven (Rocky) Miller has been riding since 1968. A former motorcycle police officer, he currently trains want-to-be motor officers at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Academy Emergency Vehicle Operations Center in San Bernardino, CA.. In his spare time he teaches basic motorcycle courses on the Central Coast.
Doug Harmon, Streetmasters Instructor, has been riding for 28 years. He started riding in the dirt, got a street bike as soon as he was old enough to be legal. He's gone from sport bikes to cruisers to touring bikes. He's the director of ground safety for Vandenberg AFB.
Scott Alguire, Streetmasters Instructor, has spent most of his life on two wheels. He raced mountain bikes for many years until he figured out that pedaling was a lot of work. As well as being a motorcycle instructor, he's Chapter Educator for his Gold Wing group and was California District GWRRA Individual of the year for 2005.
Phil Bahler, Track Marshall, has been riding on two wheels for over 45 years. His first motorcycle was a Yamaha 90 Enduro. Then he graduated to a Honda 350.
