2012 AMA International Women & Motorcycling Conference

The American Motorcyclist Association has officially released the date and location for the 2012 International Women and Motorcycling Conference. It will be held July 26 - 29 in Carson City, Nevada. For details and a schedule of events at the Conference click this link:

The speakers for this event aren't yet listed, but the schedule will give you an idea of how jam-packed this event is going to be. AMA member pre-registration has just opened and as a member you can save a bundle of cash. If you aren't a member this is the perfect time to join this organization; you can pay for a year's membership and still save money on your registration. Nancy Foote and Streetmasters Motorcycle Workshops will be leading a group ride to the Conference. It's early in the planning process, but at this time we plan on departing Southern California on Sunday, July 22 and meander through the Sierra Mountains and foothills taking advantage of scenic roads, high altitudes and exciting destinations. Given our love of twisty roads you can bet that we aren't going "straight" to Carson City!

We are planning a route that will be both challenging and rewarding and will follow a circuitous path from SoCal to Carson City, Nevada. At this time in the planning stages we intend to meet at the Hampton Inn in Lancaster on Saturday evening, July 21. After a good night's rest we will head north to Tehachapi, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and then farther north over several Sierra Mountain passes and finally to our destination. Most likely our route will take you over roads you haven't ridden before, scenery you haven't seen before and overnight stops you haven't been to before. Plan on resting for the night at an old stage stop, a mountain resort and even a hot spring.
